Botton Village Juices
Botton Village is part of the Camphill network, intentional communities
for people of all ages who live with disabilities. For over 60
years, Camphill communities all over the
world have challenged the notion of what it means to have a developmental
or learning disability. Botton Village offers an environment which
integrates people in need of special understanding into a rich
and dignified way of life in which their contributions are central
to the community. Established on the concept of mutual co-operation
between adults with special needs and others, Botton's vision
remains to create a village based on the need of every human being
for freedom, equality and brotherhood. Everyone works: on the
farms and gardens, or producing candles, wooden toys, engraved
glass, dolls, woven goods, bread, dairy products, processed food,
or on the vital tasks of cooking, cleaning and mending. In short,
providing for each other's needs and fulfilling the demands of
the wider world for its unique products.
The sale of the juices Botton produces, alongside many other food
and craft products, makes a vital contribution to the economic
well-being of the village.
